My wonderful family!

Tualatin River Labradoodles' goal is to develop healthy, beautiful puppies with outstanding temperaments.
A labradoodle is a combination of a labrador retriever and a standard, miniature, or toy poodle. We are not a kennel but a family dedicated to breeding the absolute highest-quality labradoodles. We will offer standard and med. sized F1b labradoodle puppies, which makes them approx. 75% poodle, increasing the chances for a non-shedding coat and less allergenic while at the same time retaining the wonderful personality traits of the labrador. We also will offer med. sized F2 labradoodle puppies with both multigeneration Australian and American lines. We start our breeding dogs from puppyhood so it takes time for them to grow up and pass genetic testing before they are considered for breeding. Our puppies will come with a 24-month health guarantee against genetic defects. A contract will be required to have your puppy spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. We will offer lifetime support for you and your puppy and we will help you find a new home for your dog if you are no longer able to care for it. Labradoodles and goldendoodles are wonderful family pets who are loyal, smart, and friendy to people and other animals.

Our family consists of myself, Judy, my husband Bruce, and our two daughters, Brittany and Briana. We have two labradoodles living in our home: Maggie, our F1 standard girl, and Lucy, our F1b standard parti girl. We have 5 dogs living in wonderful guardian homes in the area. Jet is a moyen poodle, black with white mismarks, who we are hoping will bring some parti colors to our F1b labradoodles in the future. Joining us in Oct. 2007 was Leila, an F1 mini phantom, parti-factored goldendoodle girl. Black Canyon's Rocky Road (Brody) is a beautiful standard F1b chocolate and white parti labradoodle. CocoBella is Maggie's daughter and she brought some gorgeous parti doodles to us recently. Teva is a chocolate parti-factored F3 labradoodle living with my sister and her husband. The newest additions to Tualatin River Labradoodles are Indy, our gorgeous standard parti poodle; Lani, our English golden retriever pup; and Juno, one of CocoBella's parti puppies from May. Our other pets include Katie, a lab mix whom we rescued 8 years ago from a shelter, and Snowshoes the cat. My father, Dr. John Metcalf, was a veterinarian so I have always had many animals around me. I spend my workdays as a labor and delivery nurse.

A dog is a lifetime commitment so we want prospective owners to thoroughly evaluate their lives before considering buying a puppy. Labradoodles are happiest indoors with their family. They are not a dog to tie to a chain outside. And, they are not a dog to leave alone for many hours at a time. They need their "pack" and they can be destructive from boredom if they do not receive adequate attention. Labradoodles will bring a lifetime of joy, laughter, and fun as well as many loving memories!

Maggie on Halloween

Maggie is our F1 (first generation) labradoodle who has a cream and apricot fleece coat. She is my constant companion and she is very smart and loyal. Her dam is an AKC yellow labrador retriever and her sire is an AKC apricot standard poodle. Maggie has completed intermediate obedience classes, canine tricks and agility. She is very athletic and we play frisbee daily! Maggie is registered in the Continental Kennel Club and the International Labradoodle
Association. Maggie delivered 7 healthy cream babies on Jan. 2, 2008 and 9 beautiful puppies with Jet on Oct. 5, 2009! She also delivered 8 beautiful black and chocolate puppies on Aug. 3, 2009! We are very excited to be able to bring the world of labradoodles to other special families!

Each puppy will come with:
Life long support
Avid Microchip
Registration in the Continental Kennel Club and the Australian Labradoodle Assn. of America
Complete veterinary exam
Printed collar and leash with "I'm a Doodle!"
Samples of NuVet Plus vitamins
Nylabone Puppy Starter Pack
Pedigrees of parents
A photo book with weekly puppy pictures
Health records of shots, wormings, weights, exams
First doses of Heartguard Plus and Frontline Plus -or- First dose of Revolution
2-year genetic health guarantee
A handy information booklet "Your Doodle and You" written by Rochelle Sundholm of Spring Creek Labradoodles
The puppy book ""How to Raise a Puppy You Can Live With" by Clarice Rutherford
A copy of "Labradoodle", a 123-page book by Miriam Fields-Babineau or "Goldendoodle" by Kathryn Lee and Mary Bloom
Your puppy will be well-socialized by meeting different children, adults, and family pets; exposure to different ground surfaces, different household and outdoor noises; lots of cuddling and human interaction! Your puppy will be litter box trained and taken outside often in the grass to play and learn to eliminate outside.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."
